With Dayinsure, you can choose from hourly car insurance, one day insurance, a week policy or a different amount of time, to suit your specific needs. There’s a common belief that annual insurance policies cover the use of your vehicle for business trips, but many don’t! Make sure you have the right insurance cover for your needs.
Our short-term car insurance starts from just £19/day or £58/week. Your day insurance quote depends on the car you wish to insure and the driver on the policy. It’s important to remember that the cost of one day and temporary car insurance in the UK will be more than what a single day on an annual policy would cost.

It’s a legal requirement that all vehicles are insured, with third-party cover the minimum requirement. A temp car insurance policy is separate cover that can be taken out alongside an annual policy to enable you to drive a car for a short period. This means that there might be two people insured on the same car, but each driver would have their own cover.
If you have a accident and you’ve taken out a short-term car insurance policy with Dayinsure, you should let us know as soon as possible. Your policy documents will explain who to call in the event of an accident.

More than one driver can be insured on a vehicle temporarily, but each person must have their own short-term insurance policy. We can’t add additional drivers onto the same policy, but each individual can get their own quote for temporary cover.
While the cost of daily insurance is typically more than that of a single day on an annual policy, short-term cover can still work out as a cheaper option, especially if you know you only need insurance for a limited time.
However, it’s important to weigh up the costs and assess the benefits of each option before taking out a policy.
Depending on your needs, taking out an annual policy might suit you better, especially if you need cover for a longer period. Another option is to be added to a driver’s existing policy as a named driver. However, if you need to make a claim, this might affect their No Claims Discount.
If you’re renting a vehicle, the rental company typically offers its own insurance coverage. This can be a good option if you need short-term protection for a rental car.
