Which address should I use?

You need to use your permanent home address (this doesn’t have to be in the UK). If you make a claim on the policy, you might be asked to provide proof that you live at this address.

Why has my payment failed?

These are just some of the more common reasons for declining a payment. They may not be specific to you. Please try again as it may be caused by a lost internet connection. Otherwise we recommend you try a different internet browser, a different device or a different payment method. You can also try paying through PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account to do this. Select ‘pay as guest’ with a credit or debit card on the PayPal website. If you’re still having trouble, try contacting the cardholder’s bank to make sure there is no block on the transaction.

Why can’t you insure me?

Your application depends on:

  • your age
  • where you live
  • the type of car
  • how old the car is
  • your driving history.

If we can’t insure you, it’s because of one (or more) of these reasons – we don’t get any more information from our underwriters. They have specific criteria, so please don’t worry – it’s nothing personal!

Why is it asking for a passport number?

We cannot check all licences, only ones issued by DVLA Swansea. To validate the driver, we require a passport number if you don’t have a UK licence. We cannot accept ID cards.

My driving licence is being rejected as incorrect. What does this mean?

The licence is validated against the driver details. Please make sure the driver’s name and date of birth have been entered exactly as shown on the licence and that the driving licence number is only 16 characters long. If your licence was issued in Northern Ireland or Isle of Man, please select this as your country of issue and not the UK.

How long can you insure me for?

We can insure a car for up to 30 days. If you need longer cover, you can take out a new policy at the end of the 30 days. The shortest time we can insure a car is one hour. The policies are only for consecutive days on cover.

I’m having trouble completing a quote – can you help?

If you can’t complete our application, it’s probably because some of the information isn’t recognised. Make sure you check your details including your email address, occupation and, if entered, licence number. If you still need help, email us at support@dayinsure.com. To allow us to respond more efficiently, please include the exact on-screen message you are seeing to allow us to respond more efficiently.

How do I get a quote?

To get a quote, please apply online. Please remember you can’t get a price over the phone.
