Pedalling with Purpose: Dayinsure’s Charity Cycle in Support of The Joshua Tree

As part of our ongoing partnership with The Joshua Tree, on the 23rd April 2024, our staff geared up for a day of cycling. Our aim was to pedal 205 miles, virtually tracing the route from the Dayinsure office in Tarporley, all the way down south to Big Ben in London.

Our Dayinsure team took on the challenge of virtually cycling this distance to help raise money for The Joshua Tree, and continue to bring awareness to the vital work they do in our community, supporting families affected by childhood cancer.

About The Joshua Tree

The Joshua Tree is a Cheshire based Children’s Cancer Charity, operating across the North West and North Wales. They are dedicated to working closely with families affected by childhood cancers and tailor their services to suit the family’s specific needs. The Challenge

We split up into teams of 2 to tackle this challenge, taking on half an hour at a time. The first couple, including our CEO Barry, started us off at 8am, virtually making their way out of the Dayinsure HQ gates, promptly handing off to the following team at 8:30am. By lunchtime we’d collectively made a positive dent into the mileage and were confident on reaching our targeted finish line of Big Ben in London.

However, the team had clearly come ready for the challenge. Our sheer determination, and some previous cycling experience, saw us smash the target mileage and reach Big Ben by 3pm. Now came the really tough part, to call it a day and rest our legs in celebration, or power on and see how far we could make it.

We were feeling positive, so we decided to pedal on, seeing what other landmarks we could reach before the 5pm cut off. We cycled out of London and eventually tallied up our total distance to 266 miles, reaching Brighton just in time for the end of day refreshments.

Thanks to the collective efforts of our team and the generous support we’ve received, we are thrilled to announce that we raised £850.52 to help The Joshua Tree continue their incredible work supporting families affected by childhood cancer.
