What is one-day van insurance?

One-day temporary van insurance is a short-term policy that lets you drive a van for a limited time.

With Dayinsure, you can choose cover from 1 hour to 30 days. So if you only need 24 hour van insurance, a few hours of cover or more than one day, you can pick the length that fits your journey.

You just need this information for a quote:

  • Your name, your current, permanent UK address, date of birth, occupation and email address
  • The reg of the vehicle you want to drive
  • Your GB driving licence number.

When could you need one-day van insurance?

Most people need day van insurance for a clear, practical reason. One-day van insurance can help if you’re:

  • Moving day often needs more space than a car can offer. One day van insurance cover can help if you’re borrowing a van to move boxes, furniture or your own household items.
  • Bought a sofa, wardrobe or appliance online? Daily van insurance can help you collect it yourself rather than paying for delivery.
  • If you need to carry your own tools, equipment or materials, Dayinsure can include carriage of your own goods. This is different from courier work or delivery driving, which we don’t cover.
  • If someone is lending you their van, you still need valid insurance to drive it. Dayinsure temporary van cover can give you your own policy for the time you need.
  • If you’ve just bought a van, you need insurance before you drive it away. One day van insurance can help you get it home before arranging longer-term cover.
  • If your van is in for an MOT or repairs, you could borrow someone else’s van for the day. One day van insurance can cover you until yours is back on the road.

Dayinsure one-day van insurance gives eligible drivers flexible cover for 24 hours. It can help with moving, collecting bulky items, borrowing a van, driving a new van home or carrying your own tools and materials.

Pay as you go

You only pay for as much cover as you require – a days cover often gives you cover at a better price than individual day rates.
