What is Flexirider.co.uk?

Dayinsure.com, the original, internet-based, short term motor insurance providers have taken the daily car and van insurance experience even further forward by introducing the first motorcycle policy that can be purchased by the day. We decided to call it ‘Flexirider’, because that is exactly what it is – a flexible product for bikers, enabling them to get cover as and when they need it, without having to amend any existing annual policies, and then having to wait for a new certificate / cover note to arrive in the post.

What cover do I get?

Customers aged 30 and over can purchase short term, comprehensive motorbike insurance for periods of between 1 and 28 days, subject to a maximum of 28 days in any rolling 12 month period. The cover can be booked up to 28 days in advance of usage, and all motorbike policies are underwritten by Chaucer Insurance PLC. An added benefit is that short term cover does not affect any annual no claims bonus levels.

When would I need this cover?

The concept is very simple. Many bikers will need additional, temporary insurance at some stage, either to use a motorbike that does not belong to them, to ride home a new purchase or to insure another person to ride their own motorbike. Here are a few examples:

  • Emergency cover for a temporary rider, or additional motorbike
  • Temporary cover for planned uses such as riding another bike, borrowing a friend’s bike or travelling on a motorcycle touring holiday
  • Temporary cover to facilitate the delivery of your new purchase
  • Cover for test-driving a private bike or a Dealer’s demonstrator
  • Riding a Dealer’s courtesy bike while yours is being serviced/repaired

Is it easy to apply and pay?

Yes. We provide a simple, easy to use internet booking website that requires minimal information about both the rider and the motorbike. The site clearly directs the user through the application process, payment is made via secure debit/credit card transaction, and the certificate and schedule can be printed out immediately at the end of the application process. We also send a copy of the certificate and schedule attached to a confirmatory email.
